Kate, Founder of Forget-Me-Not
Over the last few days, I have been busy getting things ready at our NEW LOCATION!
The Space at Apex House

This time last year I was getting things set up at my new little shop/crafting space on the High Street. I spent many hours sorting, moving furniture and planning. It seems impossible that less than a year on I am doing the same thing all over again, but this time in a much bigger space!

I had some history at 37, High Street. When Ruth had the Dress-A-Doll shop there my daughter had attended a party there and had her photo on the wall, later on, when Dawn took it over as Dottys I sold some of my crafts there – Pebble Frame art among other things. When I found out that it was available to rent just as I was looking for somewhere to start my new business venture it felt perfect. I was comfortable there, I loved the feel of the room and was very grateful to have support from Dawn and Ruth as I started out – scary times! As I said in my last blog, I had no real idea of what I wanted to do or how I was going to achieve it, but it felt right to start it there. Now, it feels like it’s time to move on and I really feel that I have been lucky in finding another place that just feels right to take Forget-Me-Not further.

Apex House on Bank Street was a large open-plan office in its previous life. From today it starts its new life as a hub of creativity and well-being. Along with Clare, and Little Oak Play Therapy, I truly feel that we have stumbled on a hidden gem.

The room is big – loads more space for crafting and parties – but also feels welcoming (we hope!) Clare has created a wonderful therapy space for her sessions and has been an amazing person to go into this venture with, so shout out to you Clare, thank you for the courage and encouragement you have given me.

I am in a bit of a state of flux right now, with some stuff here and some stuff there, but from next week I will be starting to run sessions at Apex House and I can’t wait!

While I am excited about moving on, leaving 37 High Street will be hard. I have met so many lovely people there, seen so much incredible art created there and had some amazing experiences there, seeing the benefits of free creativity in children and adults alike.

I look forward to welcoming you all to Apex House soon for many more crafting experiences, and more, with less need to move furniture around daily!
